ITY of Candon — Indonesia will battle Cambodia for the title in Week One of the SEA V Cup on Sunday at the Candon City Arena. Winner of the Asian Volleyball Confederation Men’s Cup in India, Indonesia gets a shot at a second crown in as many months after defeating Vietnam, 25-22, 25-20, 25-22, in the SEA V Cup semifinals on Saturday. Cambodia earlier stopped defending champion Thailand, 25-21, 16-25, 25-23, 25-17, to reach the gold medal match of the tournament presented by the Philippine Sports Commission, Philippine Olympic Committee and the City of Candon headed by Mayor Eric D. Singson. Arabi Boy Arnez scored 12 points, all on attacks, to lead Indonesia. Halim Farhan added 11 points on 10 attacks and an ace. Vietnam led early, 8-3, but could not sustain the surge. No Vietnamese player reached double-figure scores, with Nguyen Ngoc Thuan delivering nine. Vietnam and Thailand battle for the bronze medal. Alas Pilipinas salvaged fifth place by holding off unheralded Myanmar, 25-21, 28-26, 25-22, earlier on Saturday.
