Roberto De Zerbi reveals details of Tottenham's Marbella training camp ahead of clash versus Coventry
Roberto De Zerbi has revealed details of Tottenham's training camp in Marbella ahead of his side's clash against Coventry. Spurs spent over £380 million on signings, with 10 players joining the squad, but after no wins in their first six league matches, questions are being raised about when De Zerbi's team will finally get that elusive first victory. The Italian assembled his squad for the period abroad as they try to address the early-season woes. He said: "We worked on the pitch, we stayed together - we removed phones from breakfast, lunch and dinner to stay together because now it is like (phone) all the time. "We had two or three important meetings speaking about football, our situation and how everyone has to take responsibility. And nothing more. There were some dinners just for the players, some dinners just for the staff. "As a coach, you understand you have to improve, you have to change the situation, and you try to find all solutions. "I already did this type of training camp two times with Marseille and it was a good solution. "I spoke with the club, with Vinai (Venkatesham), with Johan (Lange), with the owner and together we took the decision, but it's nothing special. LATEST SPORTS NEWS Daniel Dubois retains WBO world title with brutal second-round stoppage Two more Premier League players remain standing as taking the knee draws boos at Leeds Michael Carrick left frustrated again as Man Utd held to draw away at Leeds "It's just to spend more time together because in pre-season we couldn't. We had many new players and players who came back from the World Cup. "Three or four days together without family, putting the club at the top of their priorities, is normal and is good." De Zerbi said players were given the "freedom" to go out independently in Marbella, as he looks to build team morale amid the gloomy period on the pitch. A welcome boost for the Italian and Spurs fans is the return of Dejan Kulusevski, whom De Zerbi confirmed is now "ready to start". The Swede hasn't started for Tottenham since he damaged his anterior cruciate ligament in 2025. Xavi Simons remains out injured, but James Maddison is ready to potentially feature against his former side tonight. De Zerbi said: "I am very close with Xavi Simons for example in this moment. I follow him step by step in his journey as an injured player. "Like Maddison, because the management of Maddison is totally different. He is another special player and now is available to play. "Kulusevski was a very important player, even last season when he was injured. "It is a part of this job for the players, but at the same time can be a crucial moment to become better, to become stronger. "You need to play many games to reach the best physical condition but there are players able to be important, even if they play 10, 15 or 20 minutes and James is one player like this. "Right now he is ready to start the game, but I don't know if we will start with him. I'm waiting for that moment." Our Standards: The GB News Editorial Charter

Christian Horner speaks out about 'difficult period' after 2024 allegations and how wife Geri helped
Christian Horner has spoken about a "very difficult period" following allegations made against him in 2024, and how his wife and former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell helped. The former Red Bull team principal discussed the investigation into allegations made by a female colleague in 2024 about inappropriate behaviour. Horner, 52, denied the allegations, and an independent investigation dismissed the grievance and a subsequent appeal was also dismissed. Discussing what happened on the Up To Speed podcast, he said: "It was a very, very tough period. "The easiest thing would have been to roll over and walk away. But I stuck to my principles and believed in the process. "Because a lot, obviously, was going on behind the scenes in terms of the build-up to the 2024 season, and we're building an engine, we're preparing to defend a championship, and there's an investigation. "Obviously, that was conducted as with any grievance that is raised within a company. "I spent my time, I went through the process, they came to a conclusion, they dismissed all the allegations." LATEST SPORTS NEWS Daniel Dubois retains WBO world title with brutal second-round stoppage Two more Premier League players remain standing as taking the knee draws boos at Leeds Michael Carrick left frustrated again as Man Utd held to draw away at Leeds Horner discussed how the situation affected his family and marriage to Halliwell. He said: "There'd been certain leakage to [the] media, and that then puts your family in the spotlight and the media circus. "And that was tough; that tests you as a person, as a character, and the strength of your family and your partner and your wife. "I'm married to a very public lady, and Geri's support during that period was phenomenal, and we came through it. And in the meantime, we're still winning races." Horner returned to the Formula One paddock at the British Grand Prix in July, where he made his first appearance since being relieved of his role at Red Bull. The 52-year-old has been linked with several teams this year, including Ferrari, and has said he wants to join without a shareholding, describing a move to the Scuderia as "the dream". Ferrari team boss Fred Vasseur previously dismissed the Horner links and expressed frustration at the media attention. He said: "We are not working in the perfect serenity. "For me, first, but for everybody in the team, for the media, for 50 per cent of the questions [to be] about this, it's a bit of a frustrating situation. "We are fighting for P3 in the championship, and at the end of the day, we are all speaking a lot about this, and even for the guys in the garage, to discuss about this, it's the best discussion that we can have. "But it is what it is, it's not in my hands. Mr Horner is looking for a job - that everybody knows - everywhere. "But what can I do? Just try to do my best to push the team, to rise them to be motivated." Our Standards: The GB News Editorial Charter
